Keep Repeating the Obvious

Life is good. I preface that statement almost as a mantra, almost trying to convince myself that this is not some plot against me. Let me share how this goes:

In the early part of August I developed a software glitch with my Droid. After multiple attempts to repair the conflict, it was decided that Verizon would just replace the phone. Replacements are always refurbished phones after 60 days of purchasing a new phone, so I was not surprised when the used model arrived in the mail. However, two days after receiving my replacement I found out SEVEN keys on the right side of the phone did not work. Verizon sent me another used phone. This one worked perfectly and looked like it had never been used; that is until two days later when I updated the Operating System. This software conflict prevented the phone from charging. I actually had to have my roommate charge my battery so I could use it today. They are sending me another phone, but i must admit Verizon my patience is running a little thin. Four smart-phones in one month is two phones too many. So if any of your quality control people are on the net searching for disgruntled customers you're about to get me Meir Mad...

I was drenched by rain, twice this month. On one occasion while walking to the subway a car going too fast hydroplaned into a couple inches of water and drenched me. That within itself wouldn't be so bad, but I took two steps and two more cars came by one after the other and drenched me more. Soaking wet ride on the subway, i get to the Starbucks and my coffee card demagnetized. I opened my backpack and my just replaced copy of "Amazing Crochet Lace" is wet and the pages are sticking together. It's been a week and the darn thing still isn't dry.

The Vet thinks Moshe may have IBD (more test needed) and Jake is having his last two teeth pulled out.Maus is still sweet and healthy (crossed fingers and toes).

After losing 30 pounds, I've gained back three pounds.

My favor earrings broke.

While packing up some glasses, Jake and Moshe decide to run the Gauntlet and knocked over one, breaking it. Did I say I bought these in Germany, hand blown Phils glasses 25 years ago, irreplaceable?

Now, I can look at all of these things and know that in the scope of life's moments, this is small. There are people really hurting out there with big problems and my phone and Phil glass is a tiny irritant not issues to make me struggle with existential theory. So what, big deal, not the worst August I've ever had...but then again..there are eight days left...
